๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The New England Patriots Helmet Story

The Boston Patriots wore the beloved "Pat Patriot" โ€” a minuteman hiking a football โ€” on a white shell from 1961 through 1992. In 1993 the team switched to a silver shell with the streamlined "Flying Elvis" head, the look that carried them through six Super Bowl titles. The Pat Patriot throwback returned as an alternate and remains one of the best-selling throwback mini helmets in the hobby.

๐Ÿง  Collector's Trivia

  • The "Flying Elvis" nickname for the current logo came from fans who thought the profile resembled Elvis Presley.
  • Pat Patriot was based on a Boston Globe cartoon by Phil Bissell.
  • The Patriots' six Super Bowl wins are tied with the Steelers for the most all-time.
